Foundry Services

Marin Markov Studio offers a full foundry service, casting works in bronze and other metals including aluminium, iron, steel and stainless steel. The original success of the foundry stems from a dedication to produce the highest quality sculpture. This has been achieved by combining traditional casting techniques with modern materials. Using silicone rubber moulds, specially blended casting waxes and the finest possible investment techniques sculpture is nurtured through the casting process. Our specialities are casting large scale works, and large series of multiples. Aiming at producing works of the highest level of craftsmanship, we interact closely with the artist throughout the process, including the critical stage of finishing and patination.

Fabrication

Fabrication is the manifestation of an original design for an artwork. The facilities at Marin Markov Studio enable ideas to develop in conjunction with production, so that what takes place at the drawing stage also works in reality. The range of projects undertaken at Marin Markov Studio has enabled us to continually improve our facilities, and has resulted in an extensive workshop that makes available a broad range of skills and techniques.

Installation and Exhibition Support

Marin Markov Studio has extensive experience of enabling fine art exhibitions. We can offer crating, transportation and installation capabilities. Marin Markov Studio has established relationships with reputable art moving agencies and is able to arrange all transportation requirements of works. To ensure a problem free installation, the works fabricated in the Studio are best installed by the experienced team of technicians here.

Maintenance and Conservation

Marin Markov Studio offers a maintenance service to care for the outdoor sculpture produced in the foundry. There is an increasing demand for this service by those responsible for these valuable artworks. The conservation of existing statues and monuments is vitally important. Using specialist knowledge and experience in traditional patination techniques, we are able to restore bronze castings to their original appearance.

Managing a project may involve an entire package with method statements and itemised budgets including equipment hire, crating and transportation, installation details, and maintenance scheduling.
